Proyecto Chispa (Project Spark) is a new initiative to encourage education of underprivileged children. As part of the project we are collecting used computers, refurbishing them and installing educational games including math, science, English, grammar and so much more.
The computers will be sent to the children of Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos (NPH), a network of orphanages in Latin America and the Caribbean. More than 3,300 children make up the NPH family, we hope these computers will be the “chispa” (spark) the children need to continue learning at the highest level and through education they will be able break the cycle of poverty. More information about how to help NPH can be found at www.friendsoftheorphans.org
Join us the first Saturday of every month anytime from 10am-4pm at Harvard Medical School where people can drop off donated computers and volunteers will work to get the computers ready. Snacks will be provided for volunteers.
**We are ONLY accepting Macs and PCs (laptops only) with at least 256 MB RAM and only LCD monitors.
If you would like to donate a computer or would like join Proyecto Chispa
