WST is a program that was founded by Elizabeth O’Day in 2006 at Boston College. As part of the program each year 30 high school students from the Boston area are selected to participate in cutting edge research on the Boston College campus as well as have the chance to visit and learn from leading female scientists. The goal of the program is to encourage young females to explore the breadth of opportunities available to women in science and for the students to consider science as they continue their own education and development.
